Moroccan drums are hypnotic to listen to and hypnotic to play. An assortment of drums, mostly sourced from Morocco a few from other African countries, were sampled in depth to capture the beauty of these instruments.

These drums are made from clay, skin, wood and hair – so completely organic. This Kontakt instrument captures the textured and earthy tones of these North African drums perfectly.

Multiple sounds were recorded from each drum, with variations of palm-muted and open being captured, and pitch bends for the skin drums also being recorded.
